We've Got a Website...

Yay!  We did it!  We are official...I think.  We have a website.  Now, be nice when you view it!  I put it together myself this summer.  I had NO IDEA what I was doing, but I think that it looks pretty good!!  Please be sure to check us out on http://www.azsugarrush.com/ and let us know what you think!!

We have had a relaxing, much needed summer vacation from school.  We have done a few great parties and birthdays over break.  We did a casino themed birthday party which we made cute little dice pops, strawberry pops for a friend's birthday and an engagement party.  I experimented with a bride and groom and, boy, did they turn out super cute!!

Here Comes Summer!

In the past month we have been busy...the end of school, kids, Mother's Day, baseball, Oprah's final show (yes, we made pops for a "Farewell to Oprah" party), Girl's Night Out, Memorial Day and the list goes on and on...

This post will catch you up on the past month of yummies that we've made! 

For Mother's Day, my friend, Brandi wanted to give her mom something special to say, Love ya Mom!  These were fun to make and turned out so pretty.  The all white pops were beautiful and with a single pink heart made the pops...POP!

We made truffles for a Girls Night Out party!  These tasty little treats were a big hit! 

We were invited to a Yankees/Red Sox party (of course we arrived in Phillies attire...yes, we are those people!) and I brought these super yummy baseballs.  When they were finished, they looked just like the real things, just smaller and tastier!

Dana and I each made a batch of Memorial Day pops to share with our families...

Dana arranged her red and white stars in the cutest festive bucket.  They looked AMAZING!

I put mine in a white bucket and adorned them with red, white and blue.  They were picture perfect in front

of the lake.  What a beautiful backdrop!



I should be up to date on the pops we've made...I'll keep you posted on the fun summer ones we create!!  We have 4 orders in the next week, so check back and see what we're doing!

Pops for School

What a perfect place to show off our pops!  We always have a birthday to celebrate or to thank our office staff for being wonderful.  Here are few of our pops and truffles we worked on this year...

These were made for a teammate of mine.  What a sweet way to say, "Happy Birthday".  They were gone in moments!

Our last day of school was just this past Wednesday.  My students have been watching me bring in pops for months now, drooling each time!  As their "So long 2nd grade...hello 3rd!" I made them Fulton Fire cake pops.  They said it was the best gift they had ever been given!  Ahhhh, music to my ears!!

Besides trying to end our school year, we've been busy with some fun cake pops! One of first real jobs was to make the most adorable cake pops for the sister of one of my students.  Tallie was turning 5 and was having the cutest cowgirl themed party.  We coordinated the colors to her super stylish party!  Sophie said they were a big hit!!

Then we did a few different parties for my friend, Lisa!  Because of her, we have a business!!  I owe her so much for believing in us!  First we made some truffles for Molly's 30th Birthday!  The party was so cute, with yellow and greenish...everything!

A few weekends later she was having both her daughter, Peyton's, 6th birthday party AND her son, Owen's, 2nd birthday.  She had so much to do, but made each day SO special for each of them.  While I was mixing the colors for Peyton's Glam Rock party (hot pink with zebra stripes), my 2 year old son (who is quite sneaky...) took the container of pink candy dye.  Now if you have never worked with this, it is EXTREMELY concentrated and only a drop or two is sufficient to make hot pink.  Gavin experiemented on his own...and for days after, he had hot pink on his face, in his ears, up his nose, in his eyes (he even cried hot pink tears for about 3 days!) and unfortunately on our carpet.  Needless to say, we are ripping up the carpet this summer and laying new flooring!  

Anyway, Peyton's party was a huge success!  It was the cutest party I had ever seen.  I am hoping to have a party just like that one day!

Owen's party was the next day...a beach themed party!  Gavin and Owen go to school together, so we both got to enjoy the pool party in Lisa's backyard.  All of their friends from school where there, and they had so much fun.  This time we made oreo and funfetti beach balls.  They were oh so adorable!  Everyone loved them!

In the beginning...

Here are some of my first attempts at trying to make cute cake pops.  I got better!

We made these for a family brunch for my principal.  Everyone at school as been SO supportive.  Because of them, we have a business.  So thanks ladies!!

And then there was the biscottii...Oh the biscottii.  Dana and I were hired to make these delightful little treats for the Volunteer Appreciation breakfast we had at school.  When they asked us to do it, I didn't know how to make biscottii.  After several tries and a few recipes, I found a winner.  275 bags didn't seem like it would be that much...but it was!!

I baked 18 batches in a day in a half; Dana wrapped 275 bags in about 4 hours!  What a task!  But we did it!  It was so successful and everyone was so impressed.  Our business began!

Welcome to AZ Sugar Rush.

AZ Sugar Rush started out as a fun way for us (Vicki Meyn and Dana Telford, two educators and friends) to hang out and make goodies for our friends and family before Christmas while our boys played.  It started as us making Saltine bark and toffee.  It started out as just a fun thing for us to do!  It started out as "Happy Happy Candy".  It started...

Now, we here we are:  AZ Sugar Rush!  I'm not quite sure how it happened, or even why, but I tried making cake pops.  I did it!  It was fun! Suddenly, we were more than Happy Happy Candy.  We were more than toffee and bark.  We were the beginning of a company that people were interested in buying our pops.  Our friendship continues, our boys are getting bigger and we are growing into a great little business. 

So follow us along on this amazing journey!
